BOYNTON BEACH, FL — Two drivers were killed Sunday morning after a violent crash at Jog Road and Woolbright Road in Boynton Beach, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said the collision happened around 6:45 a.m. on Sept. 13, 2026, when a pickup truck traveling north on Jog Road struck an Audi that was crossing the intersection. Deputies said the impact was severe enough to send both vehicles into different lanes and leave both drivers dead at the scene.
Pickup truck driver identified as 43-year-old George Edward Armas
The sheriff’s office identified the driver of the 2025 GMC Sierra pickup as George Edward Armas, 43. Investigators said he was heading northbound on Jog Road and approaching Woolbright Road at what they described as a very high rate of speed.
At the same time, Mark Alan Resnick, 78, of Boynton Beach, was driving a 2017 Audi A6 westbound through the intersection. Deputies said the front of the GMC hit the driver’s side of the Audi with significant force, setting off the chain of events that followed.
Impact sent the Audi rotating and the pickup rolling over
According to investigators, the collision pushed the Audi nearly 90 degrees before it came to rest in the northbound lanes of Jog Road. The pickup then rode up over the Audi, veered northwest, rolled over and stopped in the southbound lanes.
The sheriff’s office said both drivers suffered fatal injuries. Their deaths were confirmed at the scene, and authorities said next of kin have been notified.
Deputies say impairment is considered a factor in Armas’ actions
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said impairment is being considered a contributing factor in Armas’ actions. Deputies did not immediately provide additional details about what may have led them to suspect impairment.
The investigation remains open, and the sheriff’s office Traffic Division is handling the case. No charges or additional findings were announced in the initial update.
Jog and Woolbright intersection is a busy Boynton Beach crossing
The crash happened at one of Boynton Beach’s busier intersections, where Jog Road and Woolbright Road intersect. The location is a major crossing for traffic moving through the western part of the city and surrounding Palm Beach County area.
Because the collision happened early in the morning, investigators were able to work at a time when traffic was likely lighter than it would be later in the day. Even so, the wreck left both vehicles badly damaged and forced deputies to examine how the crash unfolded within the intersection.
What investigators have confirmed so far
The sheriff’s office has confirmed the vehicles involved, the identities of both drivers and the time of the crash. It has also said the pickup was traveling northbound, the Audi was traveling westbound and the point of impact was the Audi’s driver side.
What remains under review is the role impairment may have played in the pickup driver’s actions. The traffic division continues to investigate the deadly collision, which adds another fatal crash to the record of a dangerous intersection in Palm Beach County.
