GHS Holiday Drive
March 27, 2023
The holidays are known to make many people more generous and caring than usual. The National Technical Honors Society, also known as NTHS, had partnered with the Greer Police to sponsor a toy drive “Cops for Tots!” Students were nice enough to bring in new and unwrapped toys for children in need! Alongside the NTHS, the HOSA club had been accepting donations to give to senior citizens. They were accepting a variety of items including canned food, blankets, candy, and more.
About 20 years ago, Greer High began the annual tradition of the 2nd block challenge. Greer High Students were competing in seeing which 2nd block class donates the most money for Greer families in need. The winning class would get the opportunity to have a free lunch on the Jacket Express. A huge congratulations to Ms.Garrett’s 2nd block class for raising the most money this year!
Besides donations, students and staff were encouraged to find Buddy the Elf and take a selfie with him for a chance to win a prize! The prize was a raffle ticket to win some new shoes in your shoe size. Congratulations to the lucky student that won the raffle!
