GHS Art Being Celebrated

Landon Keeley

Greer High students take art courses to further their artistic development and knowledge. There are a variety of classes offered, including Ceramics, Photography, and IB Art. Mrs. Duncan and Mr. Parker teach their students skills that they can take with them into the real world. Art Students have the opportunity to have a piece of artwork entered in the Greer Art Show. The Art club even created the annual tiger for the Tiger Burn, featuring Bubba the Elf this year. Chayse Cain was chosen and featured in City of Greer’s Created by Black Artist Exhibition. A reception was held on February 1st to honor and recognize her painting. Her work will be on display through the months of February and March at the City of Greer Center for the Arts. Students also learn to model the techniques of famous artists and delve into the history of art. Students take the skills learned in art courses and blend these techniques with their own creative features.
