Ms. GHS Begins its 21st Year at Greer

Olivia Moase, Staff Writer

Ms. GHS has been conducted at Greer High School for the past 20 years. This year marks the 21st year.

The girl who wins Ms. GHS wins a 550 dollar scholarship. They have a choice to put it towards college or she can use it to participate in Mrs. South Carolina Teen. Mrs. Brown, the front office secretary, who organizes the pageant, says, “I love meeting all the girls and everyone because working in the office doesn’t allow me to meet a lot of students.”

Ms. GHS is a contribution to the tradition spread throughout the school. The pageant has been going on for 20 years and some mothers of participants, who were once in the pageant themselves, continue to help backstage. The pageant promotes confidence within the young women of Greer High School. They learn to believe in themselves while going out on stage and performing.

Participants may sign up and must have at least a C in every subject and be in good standing with teachers and administration.
