Homecoming Game Recap: Greer v. Traveler’s Rest
October 14, 2019
Last week, the Greer Yellow Jackets had a match up with Travelers Rest.
The Greer Yellow Jackets looked very promising during the first quarter. They put up 7 points in the first quarter, giving the crowd some excitement. However, they did not score again until the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Travelers Rest put up 21 points. Greer’s QB, Hollis Crosby secured a rushing touchdown, then George Hernandez (kicker) got the team an extra point. The score was 21-14 when the game was over with TR taking home a win.
When asked how he felt going into the game, Bryson Adams (outside line backer) said, “I feel like Hollis was confident, like he knew what he had to do.” Adams kept that feeling throughout the game, stating “It felt good [playing the game].”
Adams expressed that the team had something to prove in this game, needing “to get the monkey off [their] backs.” The team had some promising improvement, putting up points and playing in a way that seemed much more energetic and dynamic than they have previously.
The team hopes to continue this improvement and perform even better in their upcoming game against Berea this Friday.
