I was able to interview Xavier Johnson, the drum major of the Greer High School Marching Band. 

What role does marching band play in your life?

“For me, it plays a huge roll. It allows me to connect with students from high school and middle school and create new friendships. It also allows me to learn a lot about myself.”

How do you think you’ve grown from last year?

“I am a lot more confident in what I do and what I say. I also feel a lot more comfortable in that position. The connections I have made lead to a lot of improvements this year.”

What is your favorite marching band show that you have either marched in or drum majored in?

“Walls of the Mind”

“Baritone”
