GREER–The 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year is Ms. Andrea Thomason, a special education teacher at Greer High School.

She says that when she got this award, she was very shocked and was not expecting it at all. She believes that she got this award because of her “open door policy.” The open door policy is a policy she has when she helps lots of students everyday with their work, whether or not she knows them or not.

She is somebody who many people look up to, and she is a very kind person, notes many of her colleagues. She thinks that it is awesome to be given this responsibility and hopes to represent Greer High School well. She will be competing with other teachers on who gets the final teacher of the year award for Greenville County Schools. We are glad that she is able to represent GHS!
