Miss GHS Prepares to Take the Crown
November 15, 2018
GREER–Every year Greer High School has a pageant, Miss Greer High School (Miss GHS). Mrs. Brown, front office clerk, is the most involved with it and always has been.
She states, “It started back 21 years ago when I used to help with Miss America and Miss USA. My son joined the marching band and the band program needed a fundraiser. I knew how to run a pageant and decided to take it from there for fundraising.”
The Miss GHS program is modeled after the Miss America pageants. They interview the girls and they have them perform one talent. Kamille Bush, a past contestant from 2017, says, “I enjoyed getting dressed up and having an excuse to get my hair done. I did it for the scholarship.”
The winner earns a $500 college scholarship. To sign up for the Miss GHS pageant you have to have at least a C in every subject and be in good standing.
