GREER — The Greer High JV Football Team got a second-half touchdown from freshman wide receiver Cameron Martin to edge Woodruff High School, 13-8, Thursday night at Dooley Field.

Trailing 8-6, Martin took the snap from the “wildcat” formation and ran for the touchdown. Freshman kicker Deybi Reyes booted the extra point to give the Yellow Jackets the 13-8 advantage.

Woodruff got on the board first with a touchdown from its running back. Greer High School sophomore running back A.J. Bolden tied the game at 6-6 with a touchdown in the second quarter.

The Wolverines took an 8-6 lead in the second half after a snap sailed over the head of Martin and went through the end for a safety.

The Yellow Jackets (2-2) will have a bye week next and will travel to Travelers Rest High School on Thursday, September 29. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
