Pride Breaks Records, Yellow Jackets Finish Strong at County Meet

TAYLORS — The Greer High School Boy’s & Girl’s Track and Field Teams excelled Wednesday night as the Boy’s finished in Second place while the Girl’s finished in Third place at the Greenville County Track and Field Championships.

Senior Troy Pride not only won the 100, 200 and 400, but also broke the county record in all three events. Sophomore Quay White won the 110 Hurdles while Senior Dorian Lindsey finished in Second Place in the 400 Hurdles. The Yellow Jackets also took Seconod Place in both the 400 and 1,600 Relays.

In the Girl’s Competition, Sophomore Kaiya Bradford finished in Third Place in the 100 and 100 Hurdles and Second Place in the High Jump. Freshman Ebony Balsley took Third Place in the 400 Hurdles to go along with her Championship in the Long Jump from Tuesday night.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action Wednesday and Thursday as they travel to Eastside High School for the Region 2 Track and Field Championships. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. each day.
